VERSE 1
You held out Your arms, I walked away
Insolent, I spurned Your face
Squandering the gifts You gave to me
Holding close forbidden things
Destitute, a rebel still, a fool in all my pride
The world I once enjoyed is death to me
No joy, no hope, no life
VERSE 2
Where now are the friends that I had bought
Gone with every penny lost
What hope could there be for such as I
Sold out to a world of lies
Oh to see Your face again, it seems so distant now
Could it be that You would take me back
A servant in Your house
VERSE 3
You held out Your arms, I see them still
You never left, You never will
Running to embrace me, now I know
Your cords of love will always hold
Mercy’s robe, a ring of grace
Such favor undeserved
You sing over me and celebrate
The rebel now Your child

World Watch Challenge 2015
Open Doors have released their World Watch List for 2015. This list highlights the 50 countries where Christian persecution is most severe. Please visit Open Doors (http://www.opendoorsuk.org/persecution/country_profiles.php) to view the complete list of countries, with profiles of each country and prayer points.
2 Timothy 2:8-13 (ESV)
8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy, for:
If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with Him;
if we deny Him, He also will deny us;
13 if we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself.
Take part in the World Watch Challenge!
Each week, please pray for one country on the Open Doors World Watch List 2015. You can find prayer points by visiting The World Watch Country Profiles 2015.

Love Your Enemies
Matthew 5:43-48 (ESV)
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

What An Honour To Take The Blows Meant For Him.
Our persecuted Christian brothers & sisters need more prayer than ever before. With the rise to power of ISIS in Iraq, Christian persecution has become so horrific that I find I am unable to write about what is happening. I cannot bear to see any more graphic images or hear any more gruesome reports of genocide.
A few weeks ago, I listened to a sermon by one of my favourite teachers, John MacArthur, from Grace To You (gty.org), entitled "Finding Security in This Troubled World" (Sermon code 80-407). He said this about our persecuted brothers & sisters: "What an honour to take the blows meant for Him."
Let us focus on our Lord Jesus Christ. His grace is all we need!
2 Corinthians 12:9
(This picture quotes the Complete Jewish Bible translation of the verse, which is my favourite.)

Prayer Alert! China Continues Its Anti-Church Campaign without Signs of Stopping
I have received the following prayer alert, dated Friday 27 June 2014 from International Christian Concern:
Prayer Alert:
China Continues Its Anti-Church Campaign without Signs of Stopping
Dear Friend,
International Christian Concern (ICC) continues to follow the developing situation in China as the country continues its widespread and massive anti-church crackdown with 360 churches in Zhejiang province alone having been destroyed and/or their crosses (or steeples) torn down. On the morning of June 20, 2014, believers from Yahui Church of Pingyang County responded in a peaceful protest as the government lowered the church's cross. Believers burst into tears and sang a hymn, "Cross, cross, be my glory forever; all my sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus." Watch the powerful video here.
About Video:
Published on 25 Jun 2014 by International Christian ConcernChinese Christians published a public letter to the local government and asked for communication facing the massive anti-church campaign in Wenzhou City. However, within the week from the day the letter was published, Yahui Church in Pingyang County was forcibly removed on Friday morning. The video shows while the cross was slowly removed by a government construction machine, believers were bursting into tears and singing the Chinese hymn "cross, cross, be my glory forever; all my sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus." Video link: http://youtu.be/-pqOrW5JvrQ
Please stop and pray fervently for China.
- Pray for the safety of the Christians in China who are defending their churches from demolition or modification. Christians in the area have vowed to "guard their church to the end."
- Pray for the Christians in China who are targeted and often attacked, oppressed, and harassed by the government simply for their faith in Christ.
- Pray for the blessing of the millions of Christians in China who are forced to worship in underground house churches.
- Pray for courage and faith of the Christians who are taking a stand against the government crackdown.
- Pray that the truth about the anti-church campaign will be revealed and China's treatment of Christians will gain the international attention it warrants.
- Pray for the unity of the Church in China facing persecution.
Sincerely in Christ,
Jeff King
President, ICC

NIGERIA: Christians Killed in Two More Attacks
Date of Bulletin: 11 June 2014
Photo: Gabriel Stephen survived a gunshot wound to his hip when his village in Nigeria was attacked by Boko Haram militants in February 2014. |
#PrayForNigeria
Dozens of Christians were killed and many others injured in two attacks by Boko Haram in Borno state on June 1 and June 3. On June 1, at least 27 believers were killed and another 50 severely injured when hundreds of militants invaded the Christian community of Attagara during church services. Two days later, Boko Haram militants disguised as army officials entered the same village and lured Christians to a supposed meeting about security problems. All 45 Christians that came to the meeting were shot to death. Militants also attacked the north of the village and some surrounding Christian communities, killing dozens of women and children who tried to flee into the hills.

Pray for Christians in Nigeria
Violence in Nigeria has sharply increased this year. In the first half of the year, 3,000 Christians have already been killed. A VOM volunteer worker was killed, and several field staff members lost family members in the violence. Thus far, it seems that there will be no slowing to the violence.
- Please continue to lift up Nigerian Christians daily.
- Pray for grace and encouragement for those living in refugee camps who have fled the violence in the northeast.
- Pray that God will supply their needs.
- Pray for healing and restoration for those who have been injured.
- Pray for comfort for kidnap victims and those who have lost family members.
VOM is assisting believers in Nigeria with medical help, relief goods, encouragement, literature and other aid. This year the number of patients being assisted by VOM has doubled.

SUDAN: Christian Woman Sentenced to Death for Apostasy
Date of Bulletin: 4 June 2014
Meriam Ibrahim and Daniel Wani on their Wedding Day.
A 27-year-old Sudanese woman, Meriam Yahia Ibrahim, was sentenced to death in early May for apostasy. Eight months pregnant at the time of her sentencing, she gave birth to a baby girl on 26 May 2014. Ibrahim explained to the court that she had grown up as a Christian under her Christian mother's care, but the court convicted her of apostasy because her father is Muslim. In addition, she is to receive 100 lashes for a charge of adultery, relating to her 2011 marriage to a South Sudanese Christian man. Since Ibrahim's father is Muslim, the marriage is not recognized under Sharia law. Her own family filed the complaint about her marriage, resulting in the charges. The court gave her three days to recant her Christian faith, but she refused.
Pray for Meriam Ibrahim
During her trial, the judge gave Meriam multiple opportunities to recant her faith. Even now, if she became a Muslim, her death sentence would be commuted. Instead, she told her husband, "If they want to execute me then they should go ahead and do it because I'm not going to change my faith." Praise God for her firm commitment!
- Please pray for Meriam and her family.
- Pray for comfort for her in prison.
- Pray that her example will have an impact on the whole nation of Sudan.
- Pray for her husband Daniel and the lawyers who are helping her.
- Pray Meriam and her children will be freed.
VOM is assisting believers in Sudan with encouragement, literature and evangelism tools. We are also working with the thousands of refugees who have fled from the Muslim government attacks into South Sudan.

TANZANIA: Pastor and Church under Threat
Date of Bulletin: 28 May 2014
TANZANIA |
A church in the predominantly Muslim area of Mafia, Tanzania, was burned down on Friday, 9 May 2014, just hours before a scheduled prayer meeting. Radicals had threatened the pastor, Ombeni Omari, and the church for the past two years. Pastor Omari, a Christian convert from Islam, escaped to Dar es Salaam with his wife and three children after learning of the attack. He had founded the almost 60-member church, the only Christian church in the area, and nearly all of its members were converts from Islam. Although the church building was destroyed, Pastor Omari said he will return to the area because the work he was called to is not yet finished.

SERBIA: Church Members Threatened by Attacks
Date of Bulletin: 21 May 2014
SERBIA |
Attackers threw Molotov cocktails at a church in Serbia on April 21, causing minor damage and frightening local believers. One of the Molotov cocktails landed inside the church, partially burning the carpet.
Church members are thankful that the damage wasn't more severe, but several are still fearful. The attackers were arrested and sentenced to 30 days in jail, but the church continues to receive threats.
Voice Of the Martyrs Sources
- One of the church members wrote, "Please pray in the name of Christ for our church members and support them in prayer because they really need strength the people who help in the work of God need strength."
- Pray also that the Holy Spirit will speak to these believers and release them from fear.
VOM is assisting believers in Serbia with encouragement and literature.
