Pray Request: Saeed Abedini - Iran

Yesterday, the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) sent out an urgent update on Pastor Saeed Abedini. Below is a copy of the email.

http://aclj.org/iran/american-pastor-saeed-transferred-brutal-iranian-prison-life-in-danger-president-obama-must-step-in

"Pastor Saeed's life is in grave danger.

Yesterday, he was transferred to another Iranian prison – a deadly cellblock in one of Iran's most dangerous and obscure prisons.

He is no longer sharing a cell with political prisoners but with murderers. Rajai Shahr Prison is where prisoners are sent to disappear – many are murdered at the hands of other prisoners.

President Obama, who has already spoken to the President of Iran about Pastor Saeed, must take immediate diplomatic action to save Saeed's life. Time is of the essence.

Join our urgent new effort to urge President Obama to take decisive action. There is no more critical time than now.

Sign our New Petition: Immediately Intervene to Save Saeed.

Jay Sekulow
ACLJ Chief Counsel

P.S. Please earnestly pray and share this critical message. A U.S. citizen's life hangs in the balance."

Gohardasht Prison is in the town of Gohardasht, which is situated in the northern outskirts of Karaj, about 20 km from Tehran. Gohardasht Prison is also known as Rajai Shahr Prison.

Please pray:

  • That the Lord will comfort Pastor Saeed, be his strength, keep him safe and remain close to him;
  • That the other prisoners held in Rajai Shahr Prison will hear about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Lord & Saviour;
  • That the Lord will also comfort, strengthen & provide for Saeed's wife, Naghmeh & their two children who live in USA.

Petition to Free American Pastor Saeed Abedini

Iran is imprisoning and abusing an American pastor because of his faith. Iran, home of one of the world’s most radical Islamic regimes, is holding American Pastor Saeed Abedini because he is a Christian, refusing to release him, and subjecting him to unspeakable abuse.
At the ACLJ, we are launching an international campaign to free Pastor Saeed, and we need Americans to mobilize for religious liberty. Urge the President, the State Department, and every Member of Congress to take a stand for an American Christian.

 Abedini said in a recent letter from prison:
"Prison is a test of faith. I was always worried that the storms of this life would break the ship of faith, but when you stand in the steadfast ship of faith, the storms are like a nice breeze. Nothing can break the ship of faith. These walls have created more fervor for me to love others through sharing the Gospel, but more than that, the walls have deepened my love for my Savior. I feel the prayers of all who are praying for me. I hope to one day meet each one of them face to face and embrace them in my arms."

You can read more of Pastor Saeed's story in the Washington Post.

Please add Pastor Saeed & his family to your prayer list.

A Call for Mercy: Help Free Asia Bibi Now!

Our Christ sacrificed His life on the cross for our sins. ... Our Christ is alive.

Asia Bibi, a wife and mother, used these words to defend her faith against mocking co-workers who tried to make her convert to Islam. She was later convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to death.
In Pakistan, more than 150,000 Christians have signed a petition demanding justice for persecution victims, including Asia Bibi. Now you can join with The Voice of the Martyrs and our Pakistani brothers and sisters in a call for mercy. We hope to gather 1 million signatures on behalf of our sister Asia, who now sits in prison awaiting the Lahore High Court's ruling on her appeal.
Invite your friends to visit www.CallForMercy.com and add their names to the petition as well. VOM will deliver the petition, along with the list of signers, to the Pakistani Embassy in Washington DC.

Every signature is a call for mercy.

Please also keep Asia Bibi in your prayers!
